Phil Paxton

Thomas Lee was the first person to design an adirondack chair, way back in 1903, in the Adirondack Mountains. While vacationing in Westport, New York, right here in the United States of America - Lee's original adirondack chair used planks to create an outdoor chair for his summer home.

The adirondack chairs of today often feature rounded backs, contoured seat and are made from traditional lumber, as well as, all weather material which is virtually maintenance free. The one feature that has held all these years is the comfortable, relaxing fit of this icon chair. Adirondack chairs now fold, have adjustable back, varying seat heights and are available in over 20 colors.

The adirondack style has become an American icon in the architectural world. So much so that the style has now transcended to rocking chairs, gliders, dining chairs and benches.
